The Legend of the Bell Witch
The Bell Witch Cave

About the Cave, Tour Times, Admission Fees..its all here!

"Now, in present day Adams along the Red River where part of John Bell's homestead once stood...resides a cave were at one time the Bell children used to play. It was also used as the family's storage cellar for food because the year round temperature remains at 57 degrees. Many of the witch's events with the children occured in the cave. Most believe Ol' Kate still resides in the cave. Odd photos have been taken in and around it, unusual sounds have been heard in it and on occassion beautiful singing has been heard coming from the mouth of the cave. The Kirby family whom own the cave give tours to any thrill seeker willing to go into the cave. The Bell Witch Haunting was true and terrifying. Maybe you should go feel the chill up your spine for yourself."

The Bell Witch cave is truly an amazing experience to behold if the story deeply fascinates you. As mentioned, so many unusual things have happened in and around the Bell Cave. Unending amounts of unusual photos have been taken and
sounds have been heard coming from the cave. Here are some of the many odd occurrances:

1. A photo of two girl scouts was taken just outside the mouth of the cave. One girl was seated on a large rock and the other stood behind her. When the photo was developed, the upper torso of the young lady standing could not be seen and the young lady seated had a two-headed serpent crawling up her leg! This photo can only been seen at the cave, in which the cave owners proudly display it.

The Kirbys have MANY other great eerie photos for veiwing also!

2. Different sounds have been heard in or around the cave and there are many witnesses to these noises. Tourists have heard a woman singing, whispers, a woman's scream, painful-gasps-for-breath sounds and groaning sounds. Some tourists have even claimed to feel something touching them and in one case, a young woman claimed she was "slapped" by an unseen force. The worst feeling of any, in my opinion, is that heavy, burdening feeling of being watched. It feels like someone or someTHING is right up behind you...right on your heels...peering down the back of your neck!

I am not going to get into all the creepy details because I am sure the Kirby's would love for you to come and tour. They have FAR greater details and stories than I. I note that nothing unusual may happen on EVERY tour. It happens when "Ol' Kate" decides to play around. I suggest going and taking several rolls of film, in most cases, something odd usually developes. Tune in and listen well to the tour guide. These two things really make the trip worth the while.
